Happy New Year!!!  It’s hard to believe that another year has come and gone and we are about to embark on new adventures throughout 2017.  I hope that you will be able to embrace some new approaches with how I share information with you throughout this upcoming year.  I’ll touch on those new changes shortly…

With the start of a new year comes a long list of resolutions that people are wanting to accomplish.  Among the top are always lose weight, become healthier, exercise more and some form of health and fitness related goal.  This is great to hear, but the disheartening part is that within the first week, most people have already broken their resolutions and are on a downward spiral.  As a society, we tend to go from 0 – 100 over night.  December 31st we will cram in as much junk food and sweets as possible because as of January 1st, we are going cold turkey!  No junk, no sweets, just good ol’ wholesome foods!  This approach just isn’t sustainable, so if this happens to be you…you may need to rethink your game plan!  This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t set big goals for yourself.  You need something to strive for!  But you need to take the necessary steps to make this a lifestyle change, not just a 1 – 3 week change.

Now some of my changes for this year that I’m working at implementing are quite simple.  I’m wanting to simplify everything, bring it back to the basics.  Previously I would write lengthy blog articles that provided some good content, but the rate that I could get them out to you was very sporadic.  This approach is the same as someone who goes 0 – 100 with their fitness.  When you go hard at something for short periods of time, but then do nothing for much longer gaps in between, the results don’t come around!  It’s a matter of getting in consistent workouts on a regular basis, even if they are only 20 or 30 minutes in length – the key is consistency!  So with that in mind, my blog articles this year will be much shorter in length, easier to read, but you’ll be getting them more consistently!

With this in mind, I’ll leave you with this simple thought…what are you doing to create consistency in your life?  How will you accomplish your new resolutions?  Large leaps sporadically?  Or small steps one in front of the other, for an entire year!  See which one will provide the greatest results in the end.

Until next time, keep at it and I look forward to seeing more consistency from all of you throughout 2017!
